On January 19, 2017, Joshua Jones, Associate at Reed & Scardino LLP, hosted an International Trademark Association (INTA) Roundtable discussing the 2016 Year in Review – Key Trademark Decisions. INTA is a global association of trademark owners and professionals and the Roundtable programs are an invaluable resource for bringing together attorneys, paralegals, and others with an interest in trademarks.
The Roundtable produced an invigorating discussion on a variety of important trademark cases including the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) decision providing Coca-Cola a major victory in its quest to secure the exclusive control of the Zero name for low calorie sodas and the recent United States Supreme Court oral argument in the In re Tam case concerning the Asian-American rock band “The Slants” and the constitutionality of Section 2(a) of the Lanham Act regarding disparaging marks.
