Jim Eliasberg has over thirty years’ experience as a lawyer, dividing his career between the private practice of law and executive positions as in-house counsel. Mr. Eliasberg served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Taco Cabana, helping the company navigate through a United States Supreme Court trade dress dispute with Two Pesos, two rounds of venture capital financing, and three public offerings, while supervising substantial corporate and franchise growth. Mr. Eliasberg has also served as General Counsel to WSNet and, most recently, Golfsmith. Mr. Eliasberg has extensive experience with general corporate and business matters, along with labor and employment issues. Mr. Eliasberg’s law firm experience includes the practice of tax law with Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, real estate and general business law with Hill, Wynne, Troop and Meisinger, and real estate and secured lending work with Clark, Thomas & Winters. Mr. Eliasberg enjoys writing fiction and serving as a volunteer with Hospice Austin.
Education & Admissions
Mr. Eliasberg received his B.A. in Philosophy from University of California, Berkeley in 1980 and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1984. Mr. Eliasberg is admitted to practice in California (1984) and Texas (2004).
